Praying Together as a Family
If you grew up in a family that did this regularly than this thought probably doesn't strike fear in your heart, but if this was not a part of your family's heritage than it can be a scary idea. We want to help resource you to succeed in this area. Deuteronomy 6:7 challenges us as parents to make the commands of God something that we "...talk about them when you are at home and when are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again..." (NLT)
No one else has the opportunity or responsibility to walk with our children like we do. God has placed us in a special position of influence in their physical, spiritual and emotional lives. But how do we walk with our children on their spiritual journey? There is much on that list but praying together is one small way to start on that journey together.
We have put together a collection of Prayer Idea Pages that are geared for families to use to help them find creative ways to begin this journey together. Use the ones that help, feel free to edit, and cut and paste ideas to turn it into a resource that truly benefits your family. We have also encouraged our Sunday School team to use these resources so don't be surprised if you hear about some of these ideas coming home from church on a Sunday.
