Should I come early to check in my children for the first time?
Yes, it will be helpful to you and us if you can stop by Town Hall a little early the first time you join us. Just ask someone at the church's Welcome Center if you don't know where Town Hall is. The first time you come we will take a few moments to finish your registration materials and to help you get to the correct places for you and your family to participate in ministry.
My child was ill last night, can I check my child in to the nursery?
No, while we value your participation in our nurseries we also have a responsibility to provide a healthy environment for all the children who are in our nurseries. If you have more specific questions about health issues and the nursery please click here to go to our nursery guidelines.
Where do I find a first aid kit?
As you know, band aids can cure many of a child's pains. If you need access to a first aid kit, a basic kit is available at Town Hall and in the nursery area.
How do you handle check in?
On Sundays, we use a computer-based system (don't panic, it is really family-friendly) and Awana goes directly to their respective starting areas. When you first come to Awana, plan to come a little early so we can help you find where your children will begin and end the evening. When you first come on a Sunday, we will set up your family's information in Parent Pager, our check-in system. This system allows us to easily contact parents while providing security to parents. It also helps to keep our volunteers informed so we can better recognize and serve your children. If you would like more information about Parent Pager just click here.
How do I check out my children following the ministry?
For Awana proceed to the designated areas where your children will finish their program. We will help you to know where your children will start and finish their evening of Awana. On Sundays, we use the same Parent Pager system that we use to check in children to help us check them out. Please stop by one of our Parent Pager stations to begin the check out process before going on to the classrooms or nurseries where your children are. This helps us to provide appropriate security for your children and to help us keep our ministries properly staffed. If you would like more information about Parent Pager just click here.
How long does all this computer checking in and out take?
Once your family's Parent Pager entry is completed it only takes a few seconds to handle the whole process. It usually takes the computer longer to tell the printer to print than it does for families to actually check in (or out).
What if I forget my Parent Pager fob?
If you forget the fob that you received when we set up your family's Parent Pager entry, all you have to do to check in your children is either have your spouse or another person that you have designated as a person allowed to check your children in or out help you out or you can always stop by Town Hall and allow our staff to check your children in and out.
